Biogas Power Plants Project at Mojokerto
Medco Group continues its existence in the field of energy with a new breakthrough in clean and renewable energy. This project was initiated from the agreement with PT. Perkebunan Nusantara X (PTPN X) in Public Private Partnership with the scheme; Build Operate Transfer for constructing and operating the Biogas Power Plant (BPP) by maximizing the usage of biogas derived from anaerobic waste process at PTPN X Bioethanol plant in Desa Gempolkrep, Kabupaten Mojokerto, East Java.
The power output from the power plant is around 2 MW (mega watt) and will be distributed to PTPN X Bioethanol Plant with an operational cycle of 24 hour per day, 7 days a week and 300 days per year to supply the power demand in the production of bioethanol (Bioethanol Plant).
This type of liquid based BPP derived from molasses was the first in Indonesia. Therefore it is a breakthrough in clean and renewable energy. The project will be a new monument for new businesses in Medco Group that were in-line with the vision of Medco Group founder, Arifin Panigoro that Indonesia can be world’s bioenergy champion.
